Anthony disagreed and took the matter to the Court of appeal, alleging she served a probation sentence in prison, and impose probation now violates her right to double jeopardy.
The Court of Appeal disagreed, and it must follow the ruling of the Court of first instance to report to the probation office by the end of the week.
The green light to the Immigration Act of Alabama? There is a hearing today in Federal District Court in which the United States Department of Justice, churches and other groups immigration request preliminary injunction to stop the execution of Alabama's new immigration law.
The new Act should enter into force on 1 September and makes it an offence for someone without legal immigration status in Alabama. Hiring, leasing or providing transport for someone with illegal status violates the law. The problems come from all angles, from those who say that the law creates a burden on everyday life for police officers, who say that law enforcement costs are not practical.
